Brian Hopkins'
T.A. & C. Joint Railway,
Southern Spain
Brian is selling
his house and the T.A. & C. Joint Railway is being dismantled so
shortly these scenes from sunny Spain will be no more. I
think a number of members will be very jealous of the backdrop.
It certainly puts my larch lap fencing to shame, and I bet the
running season is much longer too.

West Bromwich
The left hand
photos were mainly taken in March after the most severe winter
for many years. The right hand pictures were mainly taken
on Saturday 13th August showing the work done in repairing the
ravages of winter and extending the railway to run through the
shed. It wasn't fully completed in time, but those who
attended seemed pleased with progress to date. All photos
by Keith Edwards.

The side garden
Rotten bridges repaired and a new alignment. |

Birdlip Junction
Station
Platform walls painted, platform tops re-sprayed,
lampposts repaired and re-sprayed, rear walls
pressure-washed, mortar added to support ballast and track
ballasted. |

The Tunnels Area
Frost damaged tunnel mouths repaired, new slate path,
new arbour bench, mortar added to support ballast and track
ballasted. |

The Bridge Over
the Pond
Frost damaged bridge supports repaired, bridge
pressure-washed, mortar added to support ballast and track
ballasted. |

The Shed Area
Paintwork touched up, track through shed added, new
embankment on right of concreted area. |

Side of Shed
New curved viaduct built. |

New Bridge
A new bridge was constructed to carry the line through
the shed back over itself. The tree stump in the left
hand photo had to be dug out first. |

Old Viaduct and
Incline to Extension
More frost damage repaired, new incline built and track
ballasted. |
