Malcolm Horner's Winwick Park Railway

The railway was completed in April this year and is MTS controlled with fully automatic operation capability utilizing EPL circuits this allows up to 3 trains to run without any user input however I have also managed to maintain the ability for full direct control of all points and signals from the LGB remote control ( This meant utilising over 35 LGB supplementary switches and over 250 metres of cable). As you can see the garden is extremely small but the system involves 2 reversing loops and is a basic dog bone with 3 main station areas and main line passage through 2 tunnels into storage in my garage.

Peter Morris's Stebonheath Loop Railway, Llanelli, Carmarthenshire

I built my first garden railway at my home in Llanelli about 5 years ago. The ‘Bigyn Loop’ had a number of problems caused by my inexperience as a railroader - not least too harsh gradients. Last year when I moved house, I set about another garden railway, this time using the spirit level a lot more accurately and the result of this is the ‘Stebonheath Loop’. The railway consists of four lines: a German line, a Swiss line (complete with rack and pinion), an American line and a short end to end line for shunting and running the Lionel ‘Mickey Mouse’ car.

Phil Saint's Railway, Manchester

The railway is two and a half years old, it runs on MTS and is mainly RHB outline.  There are two quite severe inclines caused by the garden dropping about 2ft 6ins from the back of the house. Scenery and figures are my wife Carole's forte. We had our 1st open day on the 22nd of July this year

Lisa Seed's Bullar Trees Line, Rossendale, Lancashire

The Bullar Trees Line is based in the small village of Lumb in Rossendale, Lancashire. The name of the railway comes from that of an unusual tree of which there are two of in the garden.
The idea of starting a G scale garden railway started back in August 2005 when having previously seen the Garden Railway series on the Discovery Channel I decided it was time for a hobby. The construction only started May 2006.  For the full story go to: - www.thebullartreesline.co.uk
