Thomas C Smith's Hamburger Straße Bahn  - Berlin, Germany

The railway is totally MTS although as yet the points are manual. The layout is a simple single line with passing loops and a three loop station area. It stretches roughly 30 metres from the front garden corner to the rear garden following the side of the garden perimeter. There are loops at the front and rear, the front loop containing a flower bed and the rear loop being built into a granite cobble stone patio which gives the effect of a Straßen Bahn. The tracks come together after the loops and it takes on the look of a twin track railway. I moved to Berlin at the end of August 2002 and started building in 2003. The railway is two years old this September and has been well received by my friends and neighbours alike.
PS. The snow was just too much this year for the snow plough to cope!! As seen in the photos.

Chris Harnett's Railway,  Southampton

The first two photos show RhB Ge4/6 302 with Landquart Davos stock on the Hexentobel bridge that was extant on the Davos line until the turn of the last century. The Bridge is constructed from brass section with a spruce decking and is an almost exact replica. The loco is a hugely modified LGB Ge2/4 only detail parts and part of the roof and cab ends have been used and the chassis is brass by Mike Tonks of Saltash, it has full directional constant lighting, and is battery radio controlled. This loco weighs in at 5.5 Kilos and is more powerful than any normal G scale RhB model thanks to it's batteries, Chassis and the original LGB lead. The stock is much modified LGB Ballenberg coaches, done before LGB came up with the same idea!
