Roy Roberts' Addington Heights Light Railway

Established in 1984 the railway started from an LGB train set and some extra track to make a small oval around the garden pond.  Over the years the layout of the railway has been altered many times and at present the layout is L shape and is double track with sidings.  The layout runs to and from a large shed where the controls for the railway are kept and also the storage sidings where trains can be made up.  Further extensions are to be made to the railway later this year and more storage sidings are to be built in the shed.
Track and Controls
All the track and points are LGB. All the points are motorized and controlled from the shed.  The transformers and points controls are all LGB.
Locomotives  There are twenty locomotives on the railway which all run on electric from the transformers.  98% are made by LGB.
Passenger Coaches
There are twenty four coaches, made up of different sizes and railway company’s.
Goods Wagons  There are over forty goods wagons and the main wagons are four wheeled tankers which make for over 50%.
Buildings  The buildings are Piko, some are concrete and some are scratch built.
